Sobre o evento

What's Walk and Talk?Walk and Talk is a structured English conversation morning walk where ESL students practice:Active Listening : Engage in conversations that foster deeper connections.Feedback : Ask actively for feedback on your own English speaking, here is a space where you're free to do that.Networking : Make connections and build a network that's as interested in making connections and improving their English as you are.Emotional Intelligence : Cultivate emotional intelligence for better interpersonal relations.Impromptu Speaking : Overcome social anxiety and speak intentionally in every conversation — all while walking through beautiful Ibirapuera Park! What to ExpectThemed conversation starter cards at every walk.A scenic 6–7 km route through the park's most beautiful green spaces. The chance to connect with at least 3 different conversation partners along the way.A light snack (healthy sandwich and coconut water) with some time to mingle and talk freely at the end.How It's Structured1. Upon arrival , everyone picks a color-coded bracelet: Red for advanced, Yellow for intermediate, and White for beginners.2. Then , we Pick & Go : grab a question card and a conversation partner to begin.Important: To help conversations flow naturally at a comfortable level, beginners (White bracelets) will be paired exclusively with other beginners, with me (Miguel) facilitating the group. Advanced and intermediate speakers (Red and Yellow) are welcome to choose their own partners freely.3. Walk & Talk : Get to know each other using the card as your conversation starter.4. We'll switch partners 3–4 times during the walk, giving everyone the opportunity to meet as many people as possible and become more familiar with different accents along the way.5. Post-walk at Kiosk do Hulk : After our walk, we'll stop for our traditional coconut water, now with a healthy sandwich included, and enjoy some open conversation before everyone heads off. Feel free to stay and chat for as long as you like!REGISTRATION FEETo help us secure committed participants and keep logistics smooth (so we don't overprepare or take up spots that others would love to have), I ask for a small contribution of R$30. This must be paid through the Sympla link before the event. A quick heads-up on organization: I always send a confirmation message to everyone individually a couple of days before the event. To hold your spot, please reply within 24 hours —otherwise, I'll assume you're unable to join and will open your place to someone on the waitlist. This helps me prepare the right amount of food and ensures we have the perfect group size for great conversations! Do'sBe curious : Beyond the starter cards, ask questions you genuinely care about.Listen actively : Your partner's stories become much more interesting when you're paying attention.Respect boundaries : Comfort is key. If you don't feel comfortable discussing a specific topic, simply let your partner know—no pressure at all.Go off-script : The card is just a springboard—follow the conversation wherever it organically leads! Pro TipThe best conversations mix the question with your own twists!“That's fascinating—why do you think you feel that way?” Don'tsWe kindly ask that everyone attending is ready to actively engage in the conversations. Also, please keep in mind that this is a longer walk, mostly under the sun, and our group's focus will be entirely on the discussions—so we warmly recommend leaving babies and toddlers at home for this one. GoalPractice English, challenge yourself, and leave with new perspectives—and who knows, maybe some fresh. That's it! Send me a message if you have any questions.Big hug!Miguel Torres
